The U.S. Government administers the Immigrant Investor Program, also known as the EB-5. Created by Congress in 1990 to stimulate the American economy, it promotes job creation and foreign capital investment. All EB-5 investors should invest in a new commercial enterprise which creates or maintains at least 10 full-time jobs for qualified US workers for a maximum period of two years following the obtaining of the conditional permanent residence, and creates or maintains direct or indirect jobs. The preservation of jobs will only be considered if they are in a distressed company.
